A Handcrafted Chalcedony Necklace Straight from the Designer’s Bench
There is something different about a piece of jewellery made by a single pair of hands, from start to finish, for a single stone. This chalcedony necklace began not with a mould or a template, but with the stone itself — a naturally shaped piece of cobalt blue chalcedony that a Polish designer held, studied, and then built a frame around to fit it perfectly.
No two pieces like this exist. The stone determined everything. The designer followed its lead.
The Stone: Cobalt Blue Chalcedony
Chalcedony is one of the oldest stones used in jewellery — worn for thousands of years across cultures for the quiet intensity of its colour and the smoothness of its surface. This particular stone is coloured with cobalt dioxide, producing a blue of remarkable depth and consistency: rich and saturated, with a translucency that gives it an inner glow rather than a flat surface appearance.
Cut in a sleek, irregular shape that honours the natural form of the stone rather than imposing a standard template upon it, the chalcedony here carries a character that no two pieces share. Held up to the light, it reveals the full range of its colour — from pale sky at the edges to deep cobalt at its heart.
