A One-of-a-Kind Rough Green Tourmaline Necklace by Our Jewellery Master
Most pendant necklaces begin with the setting and find a stone to fit it. This green tourmaline necklace begins the other way entirely. The irregular rough green tourmaline came first — selected by our jewellery master for the depth and particularity of its colour, its natural form, its complete refusal to look like anything that could be mass-produced. The mirrored silver frame was then built around it. Not to contain it. To honour it.
The result is a one-of-a-kind piece of the kind that a skilled jeweller makes only rarely — when the stone is extraordinary enough to justify the attention, and the maker skilled enough to give it the setting it deserves.
The Stone: Rough Green Tourmaline and Its Remarkable Qualities
Tourmaline is one of the most scientifically remarkable gemstones in the natural world. It is piezoelectric — meaning it generates an electrical charge when pressure is applied — and pyroelectric, producing an electrical charge when heated or cooled. These properties have made it one of the most studied stones in mineralogy and one of the most valued in crystal healing practice, where it is associated with grounding, protection and the clearing of negative energy.
Green tourmaline — known to gemologists as verdelite — is specifically associated with the heart, with vitality and with the natural world. It carries a green that ranges from pale mint to deep forest depending on its iron content, and in its rough, uncut state it reveals the natural prismatic structure of the crystal — the long, striated faces and irregular terminations that no lapidary work could improve upon.
This stone was chosen because it is extraordinary in its natural state. Cutting it would have been a reduction.
Ethically sourced. Irreplaceable. Set by hand.
The Setting: Mirrored Frame, Diamond-Cut Chain
The rough tourmaline is held in a minimalist mirrored sterling silver 925 frame — clean, contemporary and entirely focused on presenting the stone rather than competing with it. The diamond-cut chain is chosen deliberately: its faceted links catch and scatter light in the way that a plain chain cannot, creating a brightness that complements the natural brilliance of the tourmaline without overpowering it.
At 36 mm the pendant commands the neckline. This green tourmaline necklace sits on a 42 cm chain (16″) — a versatile length that works open-collared or layered. Other lengths are available on request — simply contact us before ordering.
A Piece Worth Owning
This is not a necklace that was made to a template. It was made for this stone, by this maker, once. Wear it as a connection to the natural world. Keep it as something that will never exist in quite this form again.
